This moisture analyzer is a laboratory measuring instrument intended to determine relative moisture content in samples of different substances. PM 3Y features 5,7" LCD colour touch panel which provides new possibilities of instrument’s operation and presenting measurement results. It features extended databases containing programmable drying modes related to the database of samples. PM 3Y series enables printing and exporting charts presented on its display to a BMP file.
Moisture analyzers make use of "Thermogravimetry", which is a process in which the decrease in mass is determined when a substance is heated. In this process, a sample is weighed before and after drying process, and a difference in mass between these two is calculated.
The humidity of a substance is a composition of all components present the sample, and which evapourate during its heating. For instance, when heating a given sample, the products released may include grease, aromatic substances, organic solvents, chemical additions, water and other components.
When choosing a moisture analyzer, the operator should focus on the specific applications the instrument will be used for. If a moisture analyzer is to perform drying procedures only, then a 50 g capacity instrument is sufficient. Determination of moisture content requires relatively small samples. As for temperature range, the standard offers maximal temperature of 160o C, which is relevant for 95% of operators. However, in case where samples have to be dried in very high temperatures, the operators should choose an instrument equipped with the higher temperature range 250 C.
Each moisture analyzer is equipped with aluminum weighing pan with dimensions ø 90mm
