Flow through tubes for automatic sample
changing have connecting pipes in place of the funnel. The sample is
changed by means of a pump or other metering device (not included). The
sample change volume should be at least 60 cc to be sure the previous
sample has been fully displaced.
The automatic flow through tubes for
photoelectric polarimeters have longer connecting pipes so that they can
be held in place by the measuring compartment door. The illustration shows the jacketed type for temperature control with a circulating fluid.
